Program details
Discover the Bronx, one of New York’s most authentic and vibrant boroughs. A diverse and cosmopolitan neighbourhood, the Bronx combines a whole host of different cultures, making it one of New York’s most intriguing areas. Visit America’s largest urban zoo, Edgar Allen Poe’s cottage, the bustling Little Italy area and drive past the famous Yankee Stadium. The Bronx is also famous for its street art scene and you will have an incredible opportunity to meet professional graffiti artists who will share with you the history of their craft and their techniques in a hands-on workshop.
There is so much more to New York than Manhattan and nowhere captures the true feel of the city quite like the Bronx. The Bronx is a borough of diverse ethnic groups and neighborhoods, of great cultural institutions, an area of surprising natural beauty, of rolling hills and parks and parkways. It is also a peninsula the size of San Francisco and the only New York City borough attached to the U.S. mainland.
On this tour you will explore its Grand Concourse, the secluded enclaves of Fieldston and Riverdale, Fordham University and Wave Hill, a former country estate where John F. Kennedy, and Theodore Roosevelt once lived. Look out over the Hudson River and the New Jersey Palisades and you will hardly believe that you are still in New York. The tour ends with the fascinating graffiti workshop where you will learn the trade secrets and get to try it out for yourself.
