Program details

Come and discover the Costa Brava in the fully-escorted day excursion. We'll explore a world far from the crowded beaches and brash resorts. Discover unspoilt nature reserves such as Cap de Creus and the marine reserve at the Medes Islands. Stroll around sleepy villages with whitewashed houses and narrow cobbled streets, inspiration to generations of artists. Learn all about the region's fascinating history and the Greek and Roman archaeological sites at Empuries.

First stop after leaving Barcelona is Calella de Palafrugell, a small fishing village, with whitewashed houses and a beautiful bay. You'll have tome to explore the area on your own before we head for the neighbouring town of Llafranc along the Cami de Ronda. This told track was once used to control smuggling but is now a great way to explore the beautiful coastline of this area. After some time in Llafranc, we'll head for the hilltop settlement of Pals. There are great views over the surrounding countryside from the 12th Century watchtower at the top of the hill.

We’ll move back to the coast,as we head for L'Estartit, a coastal settlement and important diving centre. Here we'll board the Nautilus and head for the Medes Islands. You'll get great views of the seabed through the Nautilus' glass bottom and we'll sail around the archipelago, home to over 1200 different species of flora and fauna. We'll also visit the impressive cliffs at Montgri.

Our final stop are the Greek and Roman ruins at Empuries, in a magnificent setting, facing the sea. We'll explore the ruins of the Greek city with the remains of the city walls, the market square and numerous buildings. In the Roman city explore the forum, theatre and admire the well-preserved mosaics.
