An impressive day out to connect us with two worlds and different cultures located on one single island. A trip carried out in bus in a comfortable and exciting way. Discovering the East area of the country, our guide will give you detailed information about the culture and the habits of the Dominicans and Haitians, with impressions impossible to forget. We will visit a plantation with all kind of tropical fruits, which we also will try, of course. Next stop will be a tobacco museum, where we can see how cigars are produced in handicraft. Going by the town of Higuey we will be able to take pictures of the famous monument of the “Basilica”, and we also have a picture stop with a wonderful panoramic view of the town of “Boca deYuma”. We arrive at the national park of the East where we carry out a boat trip on the river “Boca de Yuma”. Later on we enjoy a rich lunch at a restaurant. . Other characteristics of the tour are the visit of a school and typical house. Crossing the sugar cane fields we reach a Haitian village where we will participate at a voodoo show (witchcraft and folkloric Haitian dances, but downgraded for everybody) with detailed explanations of the history and culture of Haiti and their relationship with the Dominican Republic. Full with interesting impressions, that will stay in everlasting memory, we return to your hotel.
