Only 20 minutes away, the next stop is the village of Santo Tomas Jalietza, where you can visit a typical handmade textile works. The workshop at Santo Tomas Jalietza is most widely known for the manufacture of detailed, flamboyant and brightly coloured traditional dresses. Browse, wander, shop and enjoy learning about this important traditional and economic activity. But make sure you save a few pennies for the next destination – the busy bustling indigenous markets to be found in the village of Ocotlan de Morelos.
Admire the sprawling maze of stalls, where typical wares are proudly displayed for sale. Take in the village’s beautiful old church, and travel back in time with a visit to the house of the famous painter Rodolfo Morales.
