The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is renowned for its spectacular red rock formations and a number of outstanding features that have made it one of the most popular areas. Most of the photos and film footage of the canyon that you ever see are from the South Rim. Among the many landmarks are Lipan Point, Mather Point and Pima Point (which offers spectacular views of the river rapids below) as well as the famous routes of Desert View Drive and Hermit Road.



On reaching Tusayan in Arizona, just outside of Grand Canyon National Park, sit down for a buffet lunch before boarding a coach for a guided tour of some of the top sights and attractions of the National Park. Learn about its history and marvel at the brilliant layer upon layer of colours that adorn the walls of this breathtaking canyon carved as deep as 1.6km (1 mile) into the earth by a 446km-long (277 miles) stretch of the Colorado River. The South Rim is the widest part of the canyon, reaching a width of up 29km (18 miles).It goes without saying but don’t forget your camera – you won’t be able to stop taking snaps!
