From the comfort of a light aeroplane, you will soar over the West Rim of the canyon and enjoy a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of one of the world’s great natural wonders. This experience takes about four hours, with one hour of flight time. The adventure also passes Lake Mead, Boulder City and the Hoover Dam, which you can visit as an optional extra.

The West Rim of the Grand Canyon is renowned for its spectacular red rock formations and a number of outstanding features that have made it one of the most popular areas. Among the many landmarks are Eagle Point, Guano Point and a village where members of the Hualapai Native American tribe still live in their ancestral lands.

On your way to the West Rim, you will fly over Lake Mead – the largest reservoir in the US – which is adjacent to beautiful Boulder City and the astonishing Hoover Dam, a feat of engineering that still captures the imagination eight decades after it was built. You can opt to visit the dam by bus after the air tour.

Carved as deep as 1.6km (1 mile) into the earth by a 446km-long (277 miles) stretch of the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon is up to 29km (18 miles) wide at some points.
