Soar over Las Vegas, the Mojave Desert, Lake Mead and Hoover Dam on the way to one of the natural wonders of the world. From a light aeroplane with large oversized windows you will enjoy bird’s-eye views from the South Rim and then explore the National Park from the comfort of a coach.
The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is renowned for its spectacular red rock formations and a number of outstanding features that have made it one of the most popular areas. Most of the photos and film footage of the canyon that you ever see are from the South Rim. Among the many landmarks are Lipan Point, Mather Point and Pima Point (which offers spectacular views of the river rapids below) as well as the famous routes of Desert View Drive and Hermit Road.
Once you reach the South Rim, board a coach for a tour to some of the top sights and attractions of the National Park. Marvel at the brilliant layer upon layer of colours that adorn the walls of this breathtaking canyon carved as deep as 1.6km (1 mile) into the earth by a 446km-long (277 miles) stretch of the Colorado River. The South Rim is the widest part of the canyon, reaching a width of up 29km (18 miles). A light lunch will be served before your return flight to Las Vegas.
