The city has a proud and ancient history, the area was settled long before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors. Your expert local guide will give you the lowdown of the local lore and legends as you tour all the main sights and landmarks of this wonderful city.
The first stop is at the Museum of the Mummies. This grisly attraction contains about 100 mummified corpses of some of the victims of a cholera outbreak from 1833 and whose remains disinterred between 1865 and 1933 when their relatives could not afford burial taxes.
Then climb up into the hills above the city, heading for the Monument to Pipila, where you will enjoy breathtaking views over Guanajuato, before driving through the tunnels of the old residential area where we will visit a mine in the district of Valenciana.
