The trip only takes 40 minutes in the Volcan de Tindaya, a modern ferry operated by Naviera Armas with several different crossings a day. There's plenty to do at Playa Blanca whether you want to laze on the beach, do some shopping or explore the nearby volcanoes.

Playa Blanca itself is an unspoilt resort with miles of sandy beaches with the added attraction of a modern shopping complex and a twice weekly market at the Marina Rubicon. Make the climb to the dormant Montaña Roja volcano for some unforgettable views over to Fuerteventura. Explore the nearby Nature Reserve of Los Ajaches with its otherworldly volcanic landscapes and fossils from the Pilocene period. Walk to the nearby fishing settlement of Playa Quemada for some great seafood and then enjoy a beer or a coffee in Playa Blanca before catching the ferry back to Fuerteventura.
