Program details
Travel off the beaten track in Tenerife and discover a little reminder of its African heritage with a nostalgic camel riding adventure at the famous Camello Center. Wearing traditional desert-style clothing, you will follow a
trail through scenic countryside that features a number of native varieties of flowers, plants and trees as well as animals such as the Canarian goat and the pelibüey sheep.
This is a great experience for all the family and the children will be especially excited at the opportunity of meeting these docile yet powerful animals. Learn all about the camel and hear how it has been used for getting around on the islands since the 14th century. Don the Bedouin robes and turban, climb up into the saddle and set off on the adventure of a lifetime as the expert guide leads you on a trail that explores the
lush valleys and rugged volcanic mountains around the village of El Tanque.
Several different excursions are available ranging from 30 minutes to a few hours. But the fun isn’t over yet – after the ride, it’s time to sample some traditional Canary Islands hospitality with a
selection of local fare including goat's cheese, wrinkly potatoes with mojo sauce, local wine and Moorish-style mint tea.
Located in the wild northwestern corner of Tenerife, Camello Center will allow you to discover parts of the island you would never see from a tourist bus. Come along and
live a true Tenerife adventure.
Start/opening time: 9.30am.
End/closing time: 5pm.
