Come for a wickedly wild day out at Rio Safari Elche! Travel the world visiting animals from Australia to Africa and beyond, in a family friendly day out at Elche’s very own zoo. Nestled amongst 4,000 palm trees, you’ll encounter a place that’s home to many mammals, reptiles and birds from all around the world.


Open to the public since 1983, Rio Safari Elche is an animal lover’s playground with so many friendly faces to come and see. You can tour on foot, or take our guided train ride through the park, but either way you won’t be led on a wild goose chase! Start your journey in the African Savannah and look up to the bright blue skies at our gentle giraffes and seek out the camouflaged African lions. Next stop could be our Chimpanzee Island, where our cheeky primates are sure to put a smile on your face. Journey to the roaring Temple of the Tigers to be amazed by our graceful big cats and to Crocoland for a snap-happy experience! And to get up close to our animals, head to the farm where docile donkeys and cows are waiting especially for you.


Learn even more about the fascinating world of animals with our show stopping exhibitions that are put on throughout the day. The Asian elephants will show you their manners, the parrots their tricks and treats, and the sea lions their silly moves in three exhibitions that are sure to brighten your day. Take a break in our picnic areas or at our own restaurants to get ready for more action; take a lap in our go-karts at Karting Rio Safari or make a splash in our aquatic park open throughout the summer.
