Program details
Explore Malaga the Segway way with one of these intriguing tours of the Costa del Sol’s vibrant and elegant capital. There are two circuits to choose from: the one-hour route and the two-hour tour. The Segway has two wheels on a horizontal axis yet it manages to stay upright by itself and is the most dynamic way to glide about the city’s pavements and alleys.
The one-hour route covers the historic city centre and takes in all the main monuments including the unfinished Renaissance cathedral (which played a small part in the American War of Independence) and the Moorish Alcazaba fortress. See the prestigious Paseo de Larios shopping street, the Sacred Heart Church, the Picasso and Thyssen museums and the popular Plaza de la Merced to observe the birthplace of Pablo Picasso, who is undoubtedly Malaga’s most famous son. The magnificent Mudejar Church of Santiago is also on the itinerary as is the marina. All that in just 60 magical minutes!
The two-hour route takes in everything that’s covered by the one-hour version as well as the
palatial Parador on Gibralfaro hill and the tree-lined gardens by the port. At 130 metres above sea level, the views of the city from the top of the Gibralfaro are breathtaking. The hill has been the site of fortifications since Phoenician times and the walls of a Moorish fortress still stand on the crown. The port area has been the beneficiary of urban renewal projects in recent years and is now a thriving hive of activity.
