Program details
Travel back from modern times to the medieval period, with this fascinating day trip to Luxembourg and Dinant. Travel into the city of Luxembourg itself to discover over 1000 years of history in the streets all around, and stop at the picturesque town of Dinant on the way back.
After a three hour journey, we arrive into the city of Luxembourg itself, capital of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The settlement was established by the Franks in the early Middle Ages, who left their mark in the form of a beautiful old city centre of winding streets and timbered buildings. But Luxembourg is a city of the future as well, housing several European Union institutions including the European Court of Justice and the European Investment Bank. Enjoy a day of exploring Luxembourg old and new, remembering the lowest point of the war and celebrate the forward-looking, hopeful attitudes of modern Luxembourg.
During the return journey to Brussels visit Dinant, a quaint town characterised by its beautiful Gothic style Collegiate Church of Notre Dame de Dinant, 11th century citadel and house of Adolphe Sax. We carry on towards Brussels following the Meuse River.
