Join us for this journey into the heart of Provence, with visits to Orange, a vineyard, Saint-Remy-de-Provence, Les-Baux-de-Provence and Arles. You will enjoy a panoramic tour of Orange, a city boasting a wealth of landmarks from the Roman era. See the triumphal arch and amphitheatre, which we will visit. Then relax with a tour and wine tasting at a vineyard between Orange and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Pause for panoramic views of the Rhone river valley from the old-castle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Take out your camera for a photo stop at Saint-Remy-de-Provence, famed for its Roman triumphal arch and mausoleum located in an olive grove. This landscape was painted several times by Vincent van Gogh. There will be free time to wander Les-Baux-de-Provence and its historic centre, the museum of santons, the Hotel des Porcelets, a beautiful house from the 16th century, and St Vincent’s Church. Soak in the atmosphere with a walking tour through Arles, marvelling at its Roman heritage. Admire the Roman amphitheatre and theatre as well as the local landmarks that were painted by Van Gogh between 1888 and 1890 such as La Maison Jaune, Le Cafe La Nuit, Le Jardin De l'Hotel Dieu. There are traditional Provençal markets in Orange on Thursday and in Arles on Saturday. The order of visits will change accordingly.
