Come to Poble Espanyol and discover the best of Spain's architectural heritage without even leaving Barcelona. You'll find a wide range of houses, squares and streets from the different regions of Spain at this fascinating open-air architectural museum. The Poble Espanyol is much more than a museum however. It also boasts one of the most important concentrations of craft workshops in Southern Europe.
The Poble Espanyol was conceived as a real village in the heart of the city. The aim was to provide visitors with an ideal Spanish village with full-scale replicas of buildings from all the regions of Spain. Stroll around the plazas, streets and gardens as you admire Basque farmhouses, Moorish minarets and Mallorcan Palaces.
The Poble Espanyol is much more than a museum, it also houses over 45 different craft workshops offering traditional and contemporary crafts as well as the most innovative design and art. You'll find everything from to leather goods to embroidery and ceramics. Discover different production techniques and see how the craftspeople combine innovation and tradition as you watch them at work and then buy their wares.
The cultural heritage of the Poble is completed with the Fundació Fran Daurel, a collection of contemporary art, comprising over 300 drawings and sculptures by some of the most important artists of the 20th century, and a Sculpture Garden with over 20 artworks conceived for outdoor display..
You'll will also find a great selection of bars and restaurants offering the best of food from all around Spain, a fascinating collection of contemporary art and a wide range of cultural and leisure activities throughout the year.
