There is so much more to the city than jazz bars! Experience a different side to the Big Easy and embark on an emotional journey to the past as you visit a beautiful sugarcane plantation with sinister history.
Your excursion into the wild begins the very moment you are picked up from your hotel. As you drive away from the hectic downtown New Orleans, enjoy the smooth transition from city life to the silence of nature.
You have the opportunity of choosing from one of two amazing tours. On the one hand, you can visit the Oak Alley Plantation and, on the other, the Laura Plantation. Oak Alley was constructed in the early 19th century and it is especially renowned for its alley of 28 evenly spaces live oak trees that majestically flank the path. The oaks are believes to be by many experts at least 100 years older than the big house alongside which they stand.
If you decide to visit Laura, you delve into an old Creole sugarcane plantation that dates back more than 200 years. It was originally erected as far back as 1805. Learn about the fascinating lives of this plantation’s Creole men, women, slaves and children. In short, these tours guarantee to tighten your bonds with American history and wildlife.
