This unique raft trip covers several miles of calm water near the magnificent Hoover Dam with plenty of stops to explore secluded beaches, mysterious caves and other attractions. A knowledgeable guide will provide you with plenty of insight into the history and wildlife of this fascinating area, making for a truly memorable day out.



After a morning pick up from your downtown hotel and meeting your guide we’ll head straight for the massive Hoover Dam. This impressive structure was built during the Great Depression in order to irrigate the arid states of the Southwest. You’ll descend over 300m down to the Colorado River where you’ll board a raft in the launch area. These large, comfortable rafts have multiple air chambers and are outfitted with state of the art, officially approved safety equipment.



From here it’s time to drift downstream between the high walls of the Black Canyon. The views here are truly spectacular and the silence can be eerie at times. If you’re lucky you may spot big-horn sheep, ospreys or great blue heron in their natural habitat. The raft will make several stops for you to swim or paddle in the cool clear waters or explore the rugged shoreline. Relax and enjoy the trip as you tuck into a delicious packed lunch and experience the sights and sounds of this magnificent setting, a real feast for the senses.
