The bike ride passes through Red Valley, following a trekking route through an area offering spectacular views, with 250m high cliffs. The valley floor has rich water resources and lush vegetation and along the route we pass ancient churches carved out of the rock. One of these is Uzumlu Church, which dates back centuries to the time before Islamic tribes moved across Turkey from the east and contains wonderful frescoes still visible inside.
