Program details
See Copenhagen from almost every perspective by land and by water with the excellent hop on-hop off bus tour and cruise. Explore the historic streets of the Danish capital on an open-top bus before heading to harbour and boarding a boat for a scenic journey through the channels where the city opens out to the world.
The double-decker takes you to the top spots in this city founded in the 10th century. Get a feel for the royal life at Amalienborg Palace, the winter home of the Danish royal family. Since the 18th century, they’ve resided in these gorgeous classical palaces that surround an octagonal courtyard.
Another possible stop will introduce you to Christiansborg Palace, which houses the parliament, supreme court and the prime minister’s office. The Nyhavn stop is one of the most popular, with everyone wanting to see this beautiful and colourful waterfront district packed with bars and restaurants. In the harbour, check out the many historical ships.
Then hop aboard the boat and cruises the harbour and canals. See Christianshavns Torv, a monumental public square, and Christiansborg Castle. You will see The Little Mermaid perched on a rock near Langelinje Pier. The sculpture made of bronze is a touching tribute to Hans Christian Andersen’s character who abandoned the sea life for her prince. You, however, have more to see, such as the modern Opera House, the home of Denmark’s opera. From the water, peer inside the glass façade of the conch shell-shaped building that opened in 2005.
