Program details
Learn all about the fascinating life of Hergé, creator of the world-famous comic series, The Adventures of Tintin, and one of the 20th century’s most prominent artists. This tour takes you to the Musee Herge, the museum built near Brussels to commemorate the life and work of this Belgian auteur. Born in Ettebeerk, a municipality of the Brussels-Capital region, Herge was one of Belgium’s most famous cartoonists – quite a feat in a country known throughout the world for its high quality comics.
You will be picked up from your hotel to be driven to the Musee Herge. Along the way, enjoy the picturesque backdrop of Brussels’s beautiful streets. Once you arrive to the museum, prepare to enter this comprehensive exhibition of Herge’s life. The collection is complete with so many materials and from such a diversity of sources that by the end of it you’ll feel like Herge’s a close friend. The museum doesn’t only focus on Tintin; you will also learn all about his other inky creations.
Herge was so much more than a simple cartoonist; he was an intellectual and a visionary. He knew how to bring the knowledge from his work as a journalist to his creative works, tinting Tintin with some subtle but genius commentary and satire about 20th century politics. So join this experience either to relive your youth or to learn more about the intellectual father of one of our all-time favourite reporters.
