Program details
Enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple, Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground representing the classic architecture of Luang Prabang temples.
Then we cruise upstream on the Mekong River, giving us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside en route. We have an interesting visit to the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. The caves are packed with thousands of gilded Buddha statues of various sizes.
After lunch in a local restaurant in Pa-An, we return to Luang Prabang by road and along the way stop at 2 villages: Ban Xang Hai where local rice wine is made and Ban Xang Kong, well-known for its hand woven cotton and silk.
