Program details
We start with a short-guided tour seeing Wat Sene, the city’s oldest temple, and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground representing the classical architecture of Luang Prabang’s temples.
We then enjoy a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, with beautiful views of the tranquil countryside. We’ll visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, packed with thousands of gilded Buddha statues of various sizes.
After lunch, return to pier and along the way, stop at the village of Ban Xang Hai where local rice wine is made. On the return, we take a short drive to Ban Xang Kong, famed for its cotton and silk weaving by hand.
