If you like a fix of history on your holiday, then join us on this day of discovery. You’ll sail to the Greek mainland and drive to Olympia - one of the most important sanctuaries of antiquity and the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Set under a wooded hill, it’ll whisk you straight back to toga wearing ancient Greece. With a guide explaining everything, you’ll delve among the ruins. See the crumbled stadium and running track where 20,000 spectators once cheered on their favourite athletes. Gaze at the Temple of Hera where the Olympic flame was first lit in around 776 BC. And see the collapsed Temple of Zeus, where a massive statue of Zeus, acclaimed as one of the Wonders of the Ancient World, once stood.
