Program details
Enjoy fabulous Barcelona, one of the most beautiful cities in the Mediterranean. In this unique tour you’ll visit all the main attractions in the morning including the Sagrada Familia, the Olympic Ring and the Old Port and then spend the afternoon at the magical jagged mountain of Montserrat with its world famous Benedictine Abbey. The tour also includes a delicious traditional Catalan lunch made washed down by local premium wines.
The morning tour will start as your meet your knowledgeable local guide who will provide you with plenty of fascinating information about all the main sights. We’ll pass some of the most important work of visionary architect Antoni Gaudi, including the Parc Guell, the Sagrada Familia, and his two amazing apartment buildings on Passeig de Gracia, Casa Milà and Casa Batlló. The mini-bus will also take us past the Olympic facilities on Montjuic Mountain and the famous monument to Christopher Columbus in the Old Port.
After stopping for lunch at a traditional Catalan restaurant accompanied by local premium wines, we’ll make the climb to the magical mountain of Montserrat, the spiritual centre of Catalunya. You’ll have plenty of time to explore the mysterious natural surroundings with stunning views and eerie rock formations. The sanctuary itself, home to la Moreneta, the Black Madonna of Montserrat, where you can see an interesting audio-visual display on the life of the inhabitants of the Benedictine Monastery, is also well worth a visit.
